About
Sairee Chahal is the founder and CEO of SHEROES – an online platform that offers resources, opportunities, and interactions for women around India. It engages with businesses to help them connect with female talent in the form of employees, partners, customers & business owners.
Hailing from a small town in Uttar Pradesh, Sairee got into Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), and after graduating she got the opportunity to launch a newspaper for mariners in 1999.
Sairee set up SAITA Consulting in 2006 to help tech startups scale by helping them build systems and processes. On noticing how a lot of women applicants with high caliber gain attention from women workers while working with SAITA, in 2012, she launched Fleximoms, an online platform where companies can contact moms in need of flexible working arrangements.
On discovering that the Indian internet ecosystem was gender-biased, with a lack of diversity in the workplace and an insignificant amount of women in the workforce, she launched SHEROES, which had almost 1 million women and 20K companies signed up in just two years.
She is India’s foremost ‘woman at work’ evangelist and is also the Convener, The SHEROES Summit, and has been instrumental in bringing businesses and women professionals on a common platform.
Sairee is also the founder of Mahila Money which offers small loans to women micro-entrepreneurs through a loan that gets approved within 48 hours.
She is a noted TED Speaker and has been featured on shows like Young Turks, Pioneering Spirit, and What Women Want.
